Illinois Society, Sons of the American Revolution

Patriots & Grave Markings

The legacy GGRC website contains substantial research on Revolutionary War Patriots buried in southwestern Illinois and records ceremonies in which the chapter hosted or participated. This archive is being preserved and reorganized rather than discarded.

Regional Patriot Research

Madison County

The earlier site documented numerous Revolutionary War Patriots and grave-marking ceremonies in Madison County, including ceremonies at Glenwood Cemetery in Collinsville and Vaughn Hill Cemetery near Bethalto.

Southwestern Illinois

The legacy archive also linked Patriot research for Macoupin, Jersey, Bond, Fayette, St. Clair, Montgomery, Washington and Greene Counties. Those county resources will be restored as the original documents are recovered.
